The Trade Compliance Leader is responsible for regional import and export compliance, managing regulatory risk, implementing global standard work, and partnering with stakeholders and brokers to ensure compliant and efficient trade operations across Southeast Asia. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Trade Compliance and is part of the Global Logistics and Distribution organization. This is a remote role covering activities primarily in, but not limited to, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Monitor regional trade compliance operations across Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring compliant import and export activities, accurate customs clearance, and strong execution with a primary emphasis on import processes. + Serve as the trade compliance subject matter expert for the region, applying strong working knowledge of customs regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and country of origin requirements to support compliant business operations. + Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks, establishing internal controls, conducting audits, addressing gaps, and driving corrective actions. + Implement and sustain global trade compliance standard work and governance, partnering with the global compliance organization to deploy consistent processes and initiatives across Southeast Asia. + Manage customs brokers and partner with cross functional stakeholders, driving strong execution, issue resolution, and continuous improvement in trade compliance operations. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, international trade, or a related field + Minimum of 5 years of direct trade compliance experience, with strong emphasis on import compliance and hands-on execution in customs operations + Deep working knowledge of customs regulations and requirements, including classification, valuation, country of origin, and local import and export controls within Southeast Asia markets + Proven ability to independently own regional compliance activities, manage risk, and partner effectively across cross functional teams and external brokers + Experience implementing standard processes and driving continuous improvement, with the ability to align local execution to global compliance frameworks and systems It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Experience in medical device and/or medical diagnostics industries + Experience with Global Trade Management systems such as Oracle GTM + MS Office skills required with strong Excel skills preferred Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
