Trade Compliance Analyst

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Role Definition** The Trade Compliance Analyst evaluates and supports import and export activities to ensure full adherence to global trade laws and regulations. The role manages daily operational issues related to international trade, provides guidance to business partners, and maintains required documentation to support compliance audits and reviews. **Responsibilities** * Manage day‑to‑day operational activities related to global trade compliance. * Respond to internal inquiries and provide guidance on trade regulations, documentation, and processes. * Maintain accurate records and documentation to meet regulatory and audit requirements. * Prepare reports, analyses, and materials for supervisor review. **What We’re Looking For** * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. * Working knowledge of international trade regulations, import/export processes, and compliance practices. * Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. * High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Familiarity with SOPs, data gathering, and reporting practices. * Effective communication skills and ability to support internal customers. **Skill Descriptors** **International Trade** : Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations. Level Working Knowledge: • Works with basic functions and services of international trade. • Participates in international trade shows and promotional activities. • Adheres to export and import regulations as outlined by federal and state regulatory agencies. • Handles day-to-day operational issues associated with international trade. • Assesses basic economic and political risks in international trade, e.g. exchange rate risk. **Customer Support Policies, Standards and Procedures** : Knowledge of the organization's customer support policies, standards and procedures; ability to guide customers on all company interactions. Level Working Knowledge: • Follows standards and procedures that are relevant to one's own function and initiative. • Provides feedback in order to improve standard procedures. • Interprets documentation on the policies and standards regarding contact with the customer. • Contributes to the development and implementation of specific procedures. • Assesses inquiries for the need to escalate for further review or approval. **Accuracy and Attention to Detail** : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Level Working Knowledge: • Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights. • Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs. • Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy. • Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned. • Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free. **Analytical Thinking** : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Working Knowledge: • Detects and summarizes patterns in data and findings by producing simple reports. • Assesses common problems and obstacles surrounding data-gathering. • Customizes data fields to meet clients' needs. • Interprets and explains results of a data-gathering initiative. • Participates in projects to gather data for needs analysis. **Standard Operating Procedures** : Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency. Level Working Knowledge: • Adjusts SOPs according to changes in organizational and industry procedures. • Tracks deviations from and modifications to existing SOPs in business operations. • Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies. • Assists in establishing a standard operating procedure based on workflow and environment review. • Reviews the efficiency of standard operating procedures in terms of performance improvement.
