Job Title: Trade and Compliance Specialist
Job Description

The Trade and Compliance Specialist will assist in the development, implementation, and administration of programs to ensure compliance with U.S. Export/Import regulations. This includes adhering to guidelines outlined by the Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other regulatory agencies.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and administration of compliance programs.Ensure adherence to U.S. Export/Import regulations including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and CBP.Manage compliance data using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.Conduct product classification under EAR/ITAR.Maintain detailed documentation and recordkeeping.Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, and logistics departments.Train and guide internal teams on compliance procedures.Conduct restricted party screening and denied party list checks.Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers.Improve processes and ensure audit readiness.Adapt to evolving regulations and business needs.Essential SkillsDeep understanding of U.S. trade regulations including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, CBP, FTR, AES.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Experience with logistics, trade operations, and international shipping.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.2–5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, or import/export operations.Certifications such as Certified Export Specialist (CES) or Licensed Customs Broker are advantageous.Experience with ACE, AESDirect, and automated screening tools.Familiarity with Maquiladora operations or cross-border manufacturing environments.Knowledge of global trade agreements and free trade zones.Foreign language skills are a plus.Project management experience is beneficial.Work Environment

The work environment involves cross-departmental collaboration and requires adaptability to changing regulations and business needs. The role requires proficiency with various ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. The candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance and streamline operations in a fast-paced setting. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
