Job Description
The Trade Analyst will collaborate with trade teams across local, regional, and global levels to support import and export compliance efforts, with a primary emphasis on Tariff Classification. This position plays a key role in maintaining excellence in Customs and Trade Compliance, ensuring goods and technology move efficiently and in accordance with regulations. The analyst will also help develop compliant solutions for both current and prospective clients, while contributing to the overall governance of trade compliance practices.
ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates in-depth knowledge of US (HTSUS) and Mexico (TIGIE) tariff systems, including General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), Section/Chapter Notes, Explanatory Notes, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) under the EAR.Skilled in interpreting CROSS rulings, Informed Compliance Publications, and equivalent Mexican resources, as well as the Commerce Control List (CCL).Capable of conducting detailed product analyses for tariff and export classifications, with clear documentation of rationale, including potential military-related classifications.Actively tracks and applies updates to US and Mexican trade and export regulations, ensuring classification practices remain current and compliant.Skills & Qualifications RequiredBachelor’s degree required.At least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent professional background.Proficient with standard office software and tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite).Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Familiarity with general office equipment and materials.Work Environment
The position offers a remote/hybrid work environment, with the potential for periodic office visits for those within 50 miles. The preferred location is the Midwest.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.00 - $43.00/hr.
