Job Title: Toxicology Lab AssistantJob Description
As a Toxicology Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the laboratory's daily operations. You will be responsible for handling and processing a high volume of samples, ensuring the efficient flow of specimens through the lab. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and safety of our diagnostic services.
Responsibilities
+ Pull samples out of storage or walk-in fridges and deliver them to technicians for retesting.
+ Manage 200-300 samples simultaneously and scan them into the tracking system.
+ Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
+ Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
+ Perform scanning and data entry of specimen and patient information.
+ Ensure all lab equipment is operational and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
+ Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
+ Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
+ Experience as a Lab Assistant or in a medical or lab environment (academic experience is acceptable).
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
+ Comfortable handling human samples.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be at least 18 years old.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
You will work in a laboratory environment, with shifts scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Training will be provided on Mondays. The organization offers excellent training and leadership opportunities, and there is potential for permanent positions with significant career advancement. The work you do will contribute to important diagnostic efforts, particularly during the current pandemic.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
