The Position

Toxicology Project Leader

The position is within the toxicology group in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) and located at China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR). This group leads in the development of the non-clinical safety assessment of drug candidates during the discovery and development phases at Roche.

Your responsibilities are:

·         Developing and executing high quality, timely, integrated and scientifically sound nonclinical safety strategies from target assessment through discovery and global clinical development.

·         Representing the toxicology function on multi-functional project teams and acting as a key contributor to the selection and development of potential new medicines through close interactions with other functions such as DMPK, biology, CMC and clinical development.

·         Generating concise safety assessments and leading efforts of investigating mechanisms of toxicity for internal decision making, accountable for result analysis and interpretation, trouble shooting, as well as contributing to protocol/report of safety studies and related documentation.

·         Developing and optimizing immunosafety and immunogenicity assay strategies to characterize candidate molecules

·         Managing assay outsourcing to local and global CROs and develop/troubleshoot mechanistic immunosafety and immunogenicity assays in house where needed

·         Collaborating with global subject matter experts (SMEs) and external partners to provide relevant immunosafety and immunogenicity input locally where needed and act as local SME

In addition, you are expected to:

Profile:

You have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), PhD (immunology/toxicology or pharmacology preferred) or equivalent and >1 year of post-doc/working experience in relevant immunology/toxicology areas. Large molecule toxicology and immunosafety/immunogenicity experience is preferred. Good knowledge of toxicology including common safety assessment strategy and technology. Strong interpersonal skills and team player. Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Good English communication and presentation skills.
