Tool Room Machinist
**Job Title: Tool Room Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist for a 2nd shift position. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to program offline and operate the machine efficiently. Candidates with experience in software programming are highly desirable. We also welcome applicants who are Set-Up Technicians capable of editing programs with g-code and eager to learn full programming. The role involves working on new and existing molds using CNC Haas and YCM mills, utilizing Powermill and Fusion 360 software. The tool room is equipped with manual machines, including mills, grinders, hand tools, and CNC 3-axis mills for mold and fixture repairs. **Responsibilities** + Operate and program CNC and various cutting machines. + Operate and maintain multiple machine tools, including manual mills, lathes, CNC mills, CNC lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, and welders. + Create sketches and interpret blueprints and schematics for machining and maintenance of tooling needs. + Build, repair, maintain, and duplicate various die/tooling details to enhance production efficiency and quality. + Troubleshoot tooling and die problems and perform repairs within tolerances to optimize equipment efficiency and quality. + Assist with preventative maintenance on press tooling, assembly dies, and other production fixtures. + Contribute to the design and development of dies, tooling, and fixtures to improve product quality and efficiency. + Operate and maintain measuring instruments such as height gauges, depth protractors, micrometers, scales, and calipers. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. **Essential Skills** + 5 years of experience with blueprints. + 5 years of CNC Mill machining. + High School Diploma or GED. + 3 years of experience in writing CNC programs from scratch using software such as Mastercam, Surf Cam, Work NC, or Haas work station. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Fusion 360. + Experience with Powermill. + Knowledge of stamping processes. + Familiarity with plastic injection and rubber injection techniques. **Why Work Here?** Join a union facility offering excellent benefits and four pay grade options within maintenance. The facility is not temperature-controlled, so it may be hot in the summer and comfortable in winter. The workplace consists of three large facilities, each ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 sq. ft., and has seen significant upgrades in equipment, safety measures, and structural enhancements. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
