Tool Room CNC Machinist (Entry‑Level Tool & Die) Pay Rate: $35/hour Shifts Available: 2nd Shift (Evenings) 3rd Shift (Nights) Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours/week Position Summary We are hiring an entry‑level Tool Room CNC Machinist to support our stamping and tooling operations. This role is ideal for candidates early in their tool and die or machining career who are looking to grow their skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. In this position, you will assist with setting up and operating manual and CNC machines, producing and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds, and supporting ongoing tooling maintenance. You’ll work from technical drawings, use precision measuring instruments, follow strict safety standards, and progressively take on increased responsibility as your skills develop. Key Responsibilities CNC Programming & Setup Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders to determine dimensions and tolerances Program CNC machines using G‑code and/or CAM software Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials Machine Operation & Production Set up, operate, and disassemble manual and CNC mills and lathes Monitor operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency Produce, repair, and modify precision tools, dies, molds, and components Quality Control & Maintenance Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, scales, and height gauges Perform basic corrective and preventative maintenance Assist with troubleshooting machining or programming issues Safety & Team Collaboration Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes) Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other machinists Maintain a clean, organized, and professional tool room environment Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED Technical training in machining or manufacturing Up to 4 years into an apprenticeship program Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency Familiarity with CNC programming (G‑code) and CAM software Experience using precision measuring tools Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and mechanical aptitude Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) Preferred: Progressive stamping die maintenance experience Metallurgy knowledge and understanding of metal properties Prior tool room or stamping environment exposure Why Join ABB? $35/hour starting pay Entry‑level opportunity with long‑term career growth Hands‑on training alongside experienced tool & die makers Stable full‑time work on 2nd or 3rd shift Work for a global industry leader in manufacturing and engineering If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
