Job Title: Tool Engineer

Job Description

The Tool Engineer will design and validate production tools, special tools, and test equipment for heavy off-road vehicles. This role involves coordinating tooling fabrication with local vendors, purchasing parts for in-house prototype fabrication, and developing manufacturing concepts in collaboration with the Engineering and Training Departments. The Tool Engineer will also interface with customers, business partners, and suppliers, manage customer expectations, evaluate requirements, and maintain drawing files and CAD model structures according to department procedures.

Responsibilities

Design and validate production and special tools as well as test equipment for heavy off-road vehicles.Coordinate tooling fabrication with local vendors to ensure deliverables are met.Purchase and coordinate parts required for in-house prototype fabrication.Collaborate with Engineering and Training Departments to develop manufacturing concepts.Maintain communication with customers, business partners, and suppliers.Manage customer expectations and evaluate requirements.Maintain drawing files and CAD model structure following department procedures.Ensure adherence to safe work procedures and OHSA policies for lift devices, machine guarding, and structural tooling/racking.

Essential Skills

University Degree/College diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.Proficient user of Siemens NX3+ years of Tool or Machine Design, preferably in heavy tool design.3+ years of experience in 3D Modeling/Parametric CAD.Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude skills.Background in heavy metal fabrication, assembly, and material handling.Understanding of ANSI/AWS standards.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of London, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in London,ON.
