Tool Designer Job Number: 362502 Category: Drafting & Design Description: Job Title: Tool Designer Location: Mississauga ON Contract Duration: 12-month renewable contract 5 days on site Area Code: 647, 416 Zip Code: L5T Provisional Start Date: ASAP Keywords: #Tool.designer.jobs #Aerospace.industry.jobs #Designer.jobs Key responsibilities: * Design tools that meet design standards and are safe, functional, and producible, with or without reference. * Analyze customer requests assigned by the group leader to offer the customer appropriate and effective solutions. * Produce 3D design and detail drawing. * Perform design reviews with internal customer. * Support the various projects of the engine assembly and manufacturing lines. * Participate in problem-solving sessions, project follow-up and technical and brainstorming. * Make technical recommendations, when necessary, to project managers to optimize the design. * Analyze and disposition non-conformities following tool inspection/reinspection. * Participate in tool validation during tool try-out (as needed). * Provide user training on the use of tooling (as required). * Analyze and take action on non-conformities following tool inspection/reinspection. Required Job Qualifications: College diploma and/or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge in mechanical design, preferably tooling. * Experience and knowledge of Catia V5 software * Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M standard or other similar drawing standards * Specialized knowledge directly related to one of the tooling types.
