**Job Title: Tool and Die Maker**
**Job Description**
The tool and die maker is responsible for setting up grinding machines, conducting first piece inspections, obtaining quality approvals, and coordinating with operators to achieve the necessary production rate. The role involves grinding profiles on wire, requiring precision and skill.
**Responsibilities**
+ Program and set up precision OD and centerless grinding machines.
+ Read and interpret complex part drawings to transform them into functional parts.
+ Reduce costs on jobs once in production.
+ Set up and operate all grinding equipment, including basic set-up, tool changing, and minor adjustments to ensure set-up and cycle times meet customer quotes.
+ Use multiple metrology methods (contact and non-contact) to verify part configuration and conformance to print specifications, including surface finish, straightness, and concentricity.
+ Develop tooling and gauging to produce and measure complex part geometries.
+ Troubleshoot parts during set-up and run cycles to ensure quoted cycle times are met.
+ Ensure daily output is met and machines are running on schedule at expected quality levels.
+ Collaborate with the contract review team to provide estimates on new customer parts, including setup and cycle times, tooling costs, and scrap.
+ Interface with quality, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to resolve production issues and collaborate on quotes.
+ Maintain safety standards and comply with standard operating procedures.
+ Troubleshoot machines and feeder systems, collaborating with external machine tool providers.
+ Assist with special projects as required.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Machine setup and troubleshooting skills.
+ Centerless grinding expertise.
+ Competency in metrology methods.
+ Mechanical inclination to break down and set up machines.
+ Ability to use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and rulers.
+ Capability to interpret blueprints for desired outcomes.
+ Experience in machining, CNC setup, grinding, and polishing.
+ Familiarity with ISO standards.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
+ Experience within an ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing environment.
+ Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to solve complex issues during machining.
+ Skillful information gathering and analysis.
+ Development of alternative solutions and effective group problem-solving.
+ Precision grinder setup, operation, and editing programs with offsets.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Rahway, New Jersey.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
In addition to your annual compensation, as a full-time exempt employee, you will be eligible to participate in our complete benefits program, which include:

Benefit eligibility will begin first of the month following 30 days of employment.
