**Job Title: Tool and Die Machinist Technician** **Job Description** The Tool and Die Machinist Technician will support manufacturing operations for a highly automated site in Cary, IL. This role primarily involves designing and fabricating equipment to enhance process and productivity, as well as reducing costs. The Technician will utilize various machine shop equipment, including CNC, lathes, mills, band saws, and other machinery. Additionally, the Technician will manage a variety of projects within the manufacturing operation, focusing on designing, repairing, and improving production equipment processes across the plant. **Responsibilities** + Design and fabricate equipment to improve process and productivity. + Utilize machine shop equipment such as CNC, lathes, mills, band saws, and others. + Manage projects related to designing, repairing, and improving production equipment processes. + Conduct reactive machining for equipment breakdowns (20-30%). + Engage in proactive building of shafts or replacement parts for future use (70%). **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in tool and die machining. + Expertise in operating drill presses, mills, and lathes. + Experience with CNC machining and surface grinding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to manage reactive and proactive machining tasks efficiently. + Strong problem-solving skills for equipment breakdowns and improvements. **Work Environment** The work environment is a well-equipped machine shop featuring two manual mills, two manual lathes, one mini Haas CNC, one surface grinder, and a welding booth. **Why Work Here?** This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly automated site where you can contribute to meaningful productivity improvements and cost reductions.
