Tissue Technician

Job Description

We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Tissue Technician to support our hospital’s pathology department. You’ll assist with autopsies, surgical pathology, and intraoperative consultations while preparing high‑quality tissue specimens and slides for pathologist review.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with autopsy setup, organ dissection, and specimen preparationPerform gross examination of surgical specimens and prepare cassettesSupport frozen sections, bone marrow procedures, biopsies, and FNAsAccession, verify, track, and prepare pathology samplesMaintain a clean, safe lab environment and manage suppliesFile slides, manage reports, and troubleshoot lab equipmentSkills & QualificationsKnowledge of histology, pathology procedures, and lab equipmentStrong biology/chemistry knowledge and specimen handling experienceAssociate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology (or equivalent)Approved clinical lab training + at least 3 months experience in high‑complexity testingWork Environment

You’ll work in a fast‑paced pathology lab with 3 Tissue Techs, 2 PAs, and 8 Pathologists, processing 150–200 samples per day in a collaborative and supportive setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodland Hills, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
