Tire Technician

Waste Connections is looking for a reliable Tire Technician to join our team in Bridgeton, Missouri.

This is an entry‑level position ideal for someone interested in learning the maintenance side of the waste industry, with the opportunity to grow into a Diesel Mechanic role over time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine tire inspections on fleet vehicles to identify wear, damage, and safety concerns
• Repair tires as needed, including patching, plugging, and other approved repair methods
• Mount, dismount, and balance tires on company vehicles and equipment
• Coordinate with tire vendors for replacements, repairs, and service scheduling
• Maintain accurate records of tire inspections, repairs, and inventory
• Ensure tires meet company safety standards and DOT requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards
• Communicate effectively with shop personnel and management regarding tire conditions and needs
• Assist the maintenance team with additional duties as assigned

All tools are provided.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity requiring standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift and handle tires and equipment weighing 60 pounds or more
• Work environment may include indoor shop settings and outdoor yard conditions
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
• Exposure to noise, grease, dirt, vibration, and heavy equipment
• Adherence to all safety procedures is required at all times

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Dependable, safety‑minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Prior tire or mechanical experience preferred but not required
