**Job Title: TIG Welder** **Job Description** As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of aerospace tubular, sheet metal, and casting engine components. You will be expected to possess five years of experience in aluminum welding, specifically with tube and duct assemblies ranging from .020 to .040 thickness. Your role will include certification to AWS D17.1 Aerospace Specification, allowing you to manually weld aviation hardware from 0.020” to 0.300” thickness in all positions, using materials such as stainless steel, Inconel, cobalt, and aluminum alloys. **Pay:** + $25 - $40 pending experience and interview **Responsibilities** + Set-up and layout jobs using blueprints, diagrams, and fixtures following welding procedures to TIG weld in all positions, including using rotary turntables for manual welding. + Inspect, maintain, and log preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating. + Set up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (TIG weld) material to meet fabrication drawing requirements. + Review and comply with drawings for final dimensions, weld note callouts, and base and filler material selection. + Perform solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing, and polishing to prepare weld joints for welding. + Execute tack welding and fabricate shop aids and fixtures to assist in fabrication and welding. + Conduct videoscope inspections for root side weld defects. + Carry out visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and final weld fixtures. + Inspect welds for size, face and root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions, and porosity. + Practice Lean Manufacturing, maintain general housekeeping, and work in a teaming environment adhering to 5S principles. + Ensure daily compliance with customer drawings and specifications to maintain aerospace Quality Standards. + Comply with internal quality system and regulatory requirements. + Maintain qualification for welding certifications. + Clean work area, tools, and equipment at the end of each shift. + Follow all business policies and procedures. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Ability to pass TIG welding assessment and become certified on required alloy/joint combinations. + Good attention to detail and eye/hand coordination skills. + Proficiency in mathematical and reading skills. + Capability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. + Near vision of Jaeger #2 at 12” and far vision of 20/30 or better in either eye, with or without corrective lenses. + Ability to read, write, and speak English. + Legal authorization to work in the US. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Excellent attendance and punctuality history. + Ability to make decisions based on experience and available data. + Requires minimal supervision to plan and schedule workload according to production schedule to meet manufacturing needs. + Strives to meet or exceed job requirements. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that values precision, skill, and dedication, offering a collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork and continuous improvement. Safety training and equipment are provided according to applicable law, industry standards, and company policy. You may occasionally be required to lift weights ranging from 25 to 45 lbs. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
