Mechanical Machine Operator | 1st shift $22-$24/hr | Barberton, OH

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Operator for our 1st shift, operating from 6am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

The role involves setting up and operating thermal spray equipment, preparing surfaces for coating, and ensuring high-quality standards in production.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate thermal spray equipment according to production specifications.Prepare surfaces and components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and positioning.Monitor spray parameters such as temperature, feed rate, and pressure, and make necessary adjustments to maintain coating quality.Inspect finished products to ensure they meet thickness, adhesion, and surface finish standards.Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on spray equipment and mechanical systems.Accurately document process data, production output, and quality checks.Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and resolve operational issues.Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.

Essential Skills:

Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools, including ratchets, wrenches, drills, gears, bearings, and clamps.Blueprint drawing experience.Experience with micrometers and calipers.Machine operation experience, including presses, thermal sprayers or cold spray, extrusion, CNCs, manual machines, large saws, OD/ID grinders.Forklift operation.Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn from feedback.

Work Environment:

Our facility is an industrial machine shop style manufacturing environment with 40 employees, all working day shift hours. The thermal spray department and machine shop can be dirty, while the polyurethane and extrusion departments are cleaner. Spanning 10 acres with multiple buildings, we operate in a stable and rapidly growing industry. The environment is family-friendly, providing a great place to gain new skills and grow your career. In the thermal department, masks and respirators are required, and full beards are not permitted. The facility experiences temperature variations, with fans and garage doors for summer and radiant heating systems for winter.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
