Join our innovative team as an Applied Mechanics Technician II in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will collaborate with the Applied Mechanics team to support testing of Transport Refrigeration product designs and address reliability issues in acoustics, vibrations, and fatigue. You will work closely with various product and technology development teams and global engineering support personnel.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain laboratory equipment and perform required quality assurance.Apply knowledge of engineering science and technology principles to validate and qualify products.Follow existing test procedures, document and communicate results effectively.Support the operation, maintenance, and repair of applied mechanics lab assets.Familiarize with tests for structural reliability.Document testing progress, observations, and results with support from test engineers.Assist in planning tests to validate simulation models, assess risk, or validate durability tests.Conduct tests such as measuring acceleration on shaker tables, strain gauge, structural dynamics, and tensile lab operations.Participate in occasional field testing.Support process improvement activities for individual and group work.Essential SkillsMechanical repair and assembly skills.Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical experience.Proficiency in data acquisition and Microsoft Office.High school diploma and on-the-job experience.Experience with teamwork and openness to coaching.Attention to detail and proactive actions.Additional Skills & QualificationsEngineering technology or associate degree preferred.Experience with high-speed data acquisition is a plus.Experience in applied mechanics is a plus.Experience with structural data acquisition systems and mechanical strain measurement is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Work EnvironmentThis position is onsite at a Thermo King facility. The role offers a long-term opportunity with an initial Statement of Work approved through the end of 2026, with potential for indefinite renewal. The position includes paid time off and holidays according to Thermo King's schedule.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
