Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Test Instrumentation Manager 1 to lead the Instrumentation Technician's Team. This position is located at Edwards AFB, California, and while it includes occasional business travel to manage employees performing remote work, the incumbent’s primary responsibility will be the day-to-day execution of flight test priorities and SOWs.
The selected Candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on the business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift. Must be willing to accept work assignments that may include the following locations: Palmdale, CA and/or Edwards AFB, CA dependent on business needs.
Selected individual must have the Technical and soft skills that will enable them to lead the technician team through all facets of the statement of work, from fabrication to installation. Candidate must be able and willing to execute in a multifaceted role, willing to collaborate with Engineering, Functional and Business team members located in multiple sites across the country. This position requires a broad skillset in the area of instrumentation, electrical harness assembly, mechanical assembly and installation, and sensor operations. Desire to work in a fast-paced work environment and excellent communication skills are essential.
Roles and responsibilities, (not limited to):
Coaching and developing team members, Engineers as well as technicians
Employee performance evaluations
Timecard approvals
Team building, interviews and candidate down select
Executing special assignments in support of FHR as well as Program requests
Program / Technical execution responsibilities
Track and/or manage multiple projects
Lead team through execution of tasks supporting multiple programs
Forecast staffing and resource management
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management plan for the instrumentation team
Participate in various general Technical Interchange discussions
Work planning and tracking
Facilitate / coordinate communications across sites, Customers, Vendors, and Suppliers
Assist in identifying and communicating changes / drivers to our SOW
Work in a fast-paced work environment & have excellent communication skills
Travel for business travel up to 10% of the time

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a High School diploma/GED AND 9 years of related professional/military experience
Must have knowledge of flight test policies and procedures
Must have 1 year of experience with aircraft maintenance/operations
Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance, in-scope within the last 5 years, with the ability to obtain & retain special program access
Preferred Qualifications:
Flight Test Instrumentation Experience
Broad skillset in instrumentation, electrical harness assembly, mechanical assembly and installation, and sensor operations
Ability to develop relationships and operate in a collaborative team environment
Active DoD Secret Clearance, In scope within the last 6 years
Project management experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
