Instrumentation Engineer – Support Critical Aviation Test & Validation Programs
Location: Seattle, Everett, or Tukwila, WA
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (12 Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate Starting at : $44.22 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an Instrumentation Engineer to support the development and execution of test methods that validate aircraft systems and components.
In this role, you’ll assist with test planning, instrumentation design, and data evaluation—helping ensure accuracy, safety, and reliability in aviation testing programs. Your contributions will directly support engineering decisions and program success.
What You’ll DoAssist in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods and configurations
Develop test plans, test procedures, and basic instrumentation definitions
Design component- and sub-assembly-level hardware or software and verify designs using analytical tools
Support the manufacture and assembly of test hardware
Document engineering designs, solutions, and test results
Participate in and present technical design reviews
Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams
Apply lessons learned to improve test procedures and reduce risk
Support development and approval of estimates and proposals
Assist with test debrief materials and evaluation of test performance data
Review test data for accuracy, quality, and fidelity prior to customer delivery
Identify and flag off-nominal data to senior engineers
Prepare test reports for engineering and customer review
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design or engineering
Working knowledge of drafting tools such as MS Visio and Zuken
Familiarity with instrumentation sensors and data acquisition systems
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI)
Experience with wire installation and wire design
Ability to analyze and interpret measurement data
Familiarity with PLCs and closed-loop control systems
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
Systems engineering exposure
Experience with LabVIEW and National Instruments (NI) hardware

Pay Details: $44.22 per hour
