Description
The Test Engineering Technician supports Test Program Set (TPS) development and validation activities by building, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic and electromechanical test equipment and systems. This role applies principles of electronics, electrical circuitry, and test methods to support product verification in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent electronics military schooling.Typically 2–4 years of direct experience performing test, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electronic test equipment.Demonstrated ability to read schematics, drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.Experience using test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.Proficiency with standard business and reporting software including Microsoft Word and Excel.Experience in Mass Transportation industry preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal troubleshooting skills.Ability to perform electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting on non-functioning test equipment.Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for test fixtures, cables, thermal chambers, vibration systems, and related equipment.Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.Strong attention to detailEffective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues and corrective actions.Self-motivated with a strong work ethicAbility to work in teams and to think/act quick on their feetSkills
