The Job - Summary of Function:

A member of the Quality & Lean Integration group, reporting to the Test Engineering Supervisor.Implement and maintain Custom Test Solutions for Moog Circuit Cards and system level motor controllers in the PCB board shop and System manufacturing area within production.Drive continuous improvement through applying Lean tools to remove waste from test processes, reducing cost and increasing throughput by minimising downtime.

The activities managed by the Test Engineering Technician include:

Support of test solution design. Order parts for new equipment and support the build to deliver new test processes and solutions to schedule and budget.Contribute to improving custom test solutions and processes.Monitor and maintain existing production test equipment, respond to downtime calls with urgency to minimise interruption to production.  Identify and order replacement parts as needed.  Implement Correct and Preventative Actions to predict and avoid test downtimeWork with production test technicians and Test Engineers to improve the reliability and effectiveness of test solutions to meet program needs.Work with External Contractors as required. Improve test procedures and processes and support personnel training to ensure on-site test is effective.Support DFT and work with the wider Engineering Group through the product design cycle to verify and validate solutions.Support Moog sister sites with implementing test solutions.

The Ideal Candidate - Qualifications & Experience Criteria

Minimum years’ experience

This role may suit a graduate engineer and specific studies and projects may stand as proven experience in lieu of the experience described below.

At least 3 years’ experience in developing or supporting test solutions in an electronics environment.

Essential skills/experience

The role requires an Electronics qualification or other related engineering discipline with associated experience described above.An in depth understanding of electronic circuit functionality and components is required.Systems experience, including software, digital/analogue and power electronics.Moog Ireland’s test strategy is built around LabVIEW for automated functions. Experience in LabVIEW is an advantage.Experience in the following is an advantageVisualBasicCICT – integrating equipment and interfacing with the Moog NetworkProduct engineeringExperience in an ISO9001 or EN9100 certified environmentLean PrinciplesOperation and maintenance of:ESS chambersVibration SystemsHigh Voltage circuitsAutoCAD or similar packageThis role requires a high degree of flexibility. Moog Ireland is a project driven business and spikes in demand require flexibility in work patterns in order to meet deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers as well as individuals and teams at all levels on site.All of Moog Ireland customers and the majority of suppliers reside outside of Ireland. Some travel is a function of the roleA good understanding of written and spoken English is essentialExperience in working with Microsoft Office required.
