Test Engineer
On-Site **Job Title:** Test Engineer **What You'll Do** As a Test Engineer, you will create and execute test plans within the Test Engineering department. The department also performs integrated system tests. The Test Engineer will assist the site with development of test plans and to manage and expedite those test programs. More specifically, in this role, you will: + Participate in completing Process Safety Management (PSM) activities for new and existing processes to ensure all safety considerations are addressed with sufficient countermeasures assuring personnel safety and environmental compliance. + Support activities to generate required technical inputs for proposals including but not limited to, Applicable data deliverable definitions, testing cost estimates and other technical support to Program Management, Applications Engineering and Business Development. + Actively participate in Sales Order Kick-Off (SOKO) meetings. Complete a thorough review of proposed vs. contracted testing requirements necessary to complete the job prior to the scheduled SOKO meeting. Complete work to close any requirement gaps identified at the SOKO meeting prior to the work order release of the job to the production floor. + Actively participate in Sales Order Close-Out (SOCO) meetings. Document technical lessons learned throughout the life of the contract, e.g., test issues, test material or specification obsolescence, etc. + Provide oversight in the design and fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment. + Direct and coordinate activities relevant to development, identification, procurement, installation, verification, and calibration of upgraded test equipment and instrumentation and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data. + Provide supervision in the fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment. + Determines conditions, and schedules under which tests are to be conducted. + Generates qualification test plans, procedures, and reports (QTP’s and QTR’s). + Generates Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP’s). + Confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, such as product or system malfunctions, equipment problems, incomplete test data, and/or data interpretation. + Perform as a leader in the role of test efficiency and cycle time reduction efforts. + Train technicians to perform product testing. + Assist with sub-contract cost and labor estimations for contract proposals. + Generate Work Orders, Statements of Work, and Requisition for sub-contracted testing. + Interface with sub-contractor representatives to ensure that PSEMC requirements and schedules are met. + Perform other related duties as assigned. + Champions 5S, Continuous Improvement and LEAN. + Ability to work with minimal supervision in prioritizing and performing daily work supporting factory deliverables. May require some supervision and direction on complex or difficult tasks/efforts + Actively participate in problem solving teams related to anomalies that manifest during production and testing as well as customer complaints or field returns. + Participates in capital acquisition tasks for test equipment and/or test facility modifications. + Perform other duties as assigned. **What You Bring** + 2-5 years’ experience in the aerospace or energetic materials field, preferably in a production atmosphere. + Computer knowledge required. + Electro-mechanical experience preferred. + Experience in the aerospace or energetic materials field, preferably in a production atmosphere. + Experience in VHDL programming is a plus. + Good working knowledge of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Access, Visio, and Project a plus. + Interpersonal skills promoting effective interaction with other staff, customers, and suppliers. + Knowledge of Quality systems and practices a must. + Knowledgeable of Solid Works is a plus. + Willingness and ability to travel to Hollister, CA up to 75% during the first 90 days for training and onboarding. **Education and Experience:** + B.S.
