We are seeking a Territory Sales Representative with a strong background in selling foodservice distribution products, particularly to Italian-focused operators. The ideal candidate excels in acquiring new accounts rather than just maintaining existing ones, and can clearly articulate strategies for building a pipeline, prospecting, and closing new business.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sales strategies to acquire new accounts within the foodservice distribution sector.Call on Italian-focused operators to promote and sell products.Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.Prospect and engage with potential new clients through cold calling and other outreach methods.Manage customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service.Perform data entry and account management tasks as needed.Essential Skills2-5+ years of experience in foodservice sales.Experience calling on Italian-focused operators.Proven success in new business development.Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including cheese, meats, dry goods, and pizza ingredients.Experience in foodservice distribution is strongly preferred.Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.Additional Skills & QualificationsExisting relationships or a book of business is a plus.Open to candidates from Italian cuisine backgrounds, such as pizzeria or restaurant owners, interested in moving into sales.Must reside in or near the Queens area to cover sales territory in Nassau and Queens.Work EnvironmentThis position offers a dynamic work environment where decisions are made locally and quickly. Salespeople have the autonomy to build their territory in their own way, with strong performers recognized and trusted. The role primarily involves being on the road selling to clients, with occasional visits to the main HQ in Garden City Park for meetings and training. The position includes a commission structure of 10% of gross profit from sales, with eligibility after reaching $10k in weekly gross sales. Business expenses like parking are reimbursable. Compensation is competitive, with potential to match or beat offers from competitors.
