Caterpillar is seeking a talented sales representative for our North America Paving Team. As a Territory Sales Representative within the US northeast, this role will travel frequently across multiple states.
About the Role: Caterpillar’s Customer Solutions Core Regions partners closely with our extensive network of dealers - providing education, technical support and business insights. If you enjoy traveling to customer sites, building strong partnerships and have a sales background in heavy machinery, construction or paving, this role may be a great next step in your career!
What You Will Do:
Partner with dealerships in ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, PA and NJ representing CAT paving products
Assist dealers on the forecast, sales strategy planning, sales techniques, and promoting programs that increase sales while maximizing price realization
Perform regular sales performance reviews with dealers and ensuring implementation of corrective actions where needed.
Act within the business process guidance on review and approval for variance programs and commercial actions.
Present products or services for stakeholders, answering any customer questions, and addressing their needs.
Translate complex concerns and challenges into clear, value-driven solutions for the customers we serve.
Travel Requirement: 50-75% (domestic)
Skills You Have:
Effective communications, strong relationship management and customer focus skills to foster strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement.
Skilled in value selling with ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs
Demonstrated decision making and critical thinking skills - ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Industry knowledge of trends and regulatory environment and business development techniques
Ability to engage and negotiate with others to achieve win-win solutions
What Will Put You Ahead:
University degree
Experience with progressively growing responsibilities in previous commercial roles involving dealer and/or customer facing interactions
Direct customer interaction in a sales or account management role
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Caterpillar products and services
Strong drive and organizational capabilities
Experience working in an international company and a matrix organization
About Customer Solutions Core Regions Division
The Customer Solutions Core Regions Division is committed to solving customer challenges that extend beyond purchasing machines and parts. This team, alongside dealers, will engage more closely with customers, to create, customize and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing. The division will be regionally on the unique needs of customers in core regions, focused on Americas North, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
