Job Title: Telecommunications Technician, Senior
Location: Camp Arifjan, Kuwait
Job Responsibilities
The Telecommunications Technician, Senior will be responsible for the terminals supporting the Senior Leader Command, Control, and Communications System - Airborne (SLC3S-A) provides executive airborne communications supporting world-wide command and control capabilities to US Government Senior Leaders (i.e., the President of the United States (POTUS); Vice President of the United States (VPOTUS); Secretary of Defense (SECDEF); Secretary of State (SECSTATE); Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS); Unified Combatant Commanders (COCOMs); and their staffs as well as other Government senior leaders).
Must possess knowledge and experience with both tactical and commercial communications equipment. Demonstrated understanding of strategic SATCOM terminals and associated frequency bands, including C, Ku, X, and Ka. Familiarity with the operation and application of test equipment used for diagnosing and maintaining communication systems. Working knowledge of strategic UHF communication systems. Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills are required.
Minimum Qualifications
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable). Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting the installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of communications-electronic systems and equipment. Must have at least two (2) years of experience operating in a tactical environment, with hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of antenna controllers, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) and Low Noise Blocks (LNB), up/down converters, and Fiber Optic, Coaxial, and Ethernet cabling. Proficient in working with Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) satellite modems. Demonstrated experience and expertise in both commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures. Proficiency with commercial TDMA and Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) modems is required. Able to travel to support mission up to 10%.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, OR an Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience, OR eleven (11) years of recent specialized experience.
