Technology Operations Analyst 2 - Contingent
**Location: Tempe, AZ (Onsite)** **Job Summary:** We are seeking a proactive and technically capable **Tier 1 Systems Support Analyst** to join our runbook-based operations team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in Linux/Unix environments, basic database understanding, and a passion for troubleshooting. You’ll be the first line of defense for application and system issues, escalating when necessary and ensuring smooth operations across critical platforms. **Key Responsibilities:** + Monitor and support a wide range of applications and systems. + Follow detailed runbooks to resolve Tier 1 issues; escalate unresolved issues to Tier 2/3 teams. + Execute scripts and navigate Linux/Unix environments to perform basic diagnostics. + Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to runbooks or processes. + Collaborate with developers and platform teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents. + Document incidents, resolutions, and escalation paths clearly in ticketing systems. + Participate in shift rotations, including weekends and holidays as needed. + Provide leadership support when needed—ideal for candidates with supervisory experience or aspirations. **Required Skills & Experience:** + 1–3 years of experience in a helpdesk, NOC, or systems support role. + Strong working knowledge of **Linux/Unix** environments. + Ability to **run scripts** and navigate command-line tools confidently. + Familiarity with **SQL/Oracle/MongoDB** (reading and understanding queries; not writing). + Experience following structured troubleshooting processes and runbooks. + Strong communication and documentation skills. + Ability to work independently and follow directions precisely. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Background in development or platform support/helpdesk. + Experience in high-availability or 24/7 support environments. + Exposure to ITIL practices and incident management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira). + Leadership experience or interest in leading small teams. **Schedule:** Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM) + Week A: Sunday–Tuesday + Week B: Thursday–Saturday + Alternating 3-day and 4-day workweeks Interview: Resume review Monday 10:30AM, set up candidates for Tuesday/wednesday In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within Technology Operations. Review and analyze basic or tactical Technology Operations assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables. Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Provide information to client personnel in Technology Operations. Required Qualifications: 2+ years of Technology Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
