Job Title: Technology DesignerJob Description

In this role, you will leverage your prior experience to convert system design concepts into specific layouts. This involves interpreting information from the basis of design, as well as gathering insights from users, other consultants, field surveys, and code research.

ResponsibilitiesDesign technology systems using Revit, including audio/visual, IT infrastructure, and security systems.Convert system design concepts into specific layouts.Collaborate with team members across various offices when additional resources are needed.Participate in the creation of construction documents and technology engineering projects.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit for technology design.2-5 years of experience utilizing Revit at a design firm.At least 1 year of technology design experience in Revit, specifically in Audio Visual, IT infrastructure, and Security Systems.Understanding of horizontal cabling, copper backbone, and fiber backbone.Knowledge of wireless access points, physical security systems, and audio-visual systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience in healthcare, science & technology, or data center projects is advantageous.RCDD certification is beneficial but not required; support for obtaining certification is available.Work Environment

You will be part of a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm with over 800 employees. The firm has been recognized in the Top 20 Engineering Firms and Top 3 Science and Technology Firms by Building Design + Construction Magazine. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days of remote work; the team typically works in the office from Tuesday to Thursday. The Chicago office has about 50 employees, and candidates can also work from offices in Denver, Madison, Overland Park, Houston, or Austin while remaining aligned to their region. The ICT team has 36 members nationwide, with hubs in Seattle, Madison, Denver, North Carolina, and Florida. The goal is to grow the Chicago presence, starting with two hires staggered 2–3 months apart.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.
