Position Summary

As a Research and Development (R&D) Technician you will be responsible for laboratory testing and design qualification towards product changes and new product launches. You will support projects related to Cost, Quality, and Supply challenges. You will operate within the Global R&D organization and be part of the CQS R&D team at the Rassau site.


Responsibilities

This position supports existing automotive brands by conducting lab experiments and testing as part of projects improving the cost and performance of existing products.   Specific accountabilities include:

Operate in a safe manner within R&D laboratory and throughout Rassau siteUndertake routine and non-routine laboratory testingOperate laboratory equipment responsibly and accuratelyPerform product performance testing

This can be an external environment duty and requires physical capability

Conform to and create written test method SOPs and specificationsResponsible for completing R&D reporting documentation, including written project reportsLiaise with on-site and virtual cross-functional teams as needed; communication via Teams calls and E-mailEnsure housekeeping of the R&D laboratory meets acceptable levelsMaintain R&D laboratory inventories to a high and accurate standardCarry out any other duties in line with the position as and when required
What we are looking for

Preferred/Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience in laboratory environment and blending aqueous based formulasCurious, with interest in science applicationsFlexible and accepting of changeable prioritiesPersonable, able and willing to verbally communicate widelyPossess a positive and proactive approachCommitted to working safely at all times Must be computer literate (Microsoft Applications, inc. Excel and Outlook)The following would be advantageous:Experience in formulation chemistry, raw materials, surfactants, and the ability to use this knowledge to develop innovative, cost-effective products.Experience leading chemical research, preferably related to consumer productor formulation development projects. This includes designing and developing formulas/products, developing test plans, analyzing data, and determining next steps in a development programAbility to lead projects from fundamentals through scale up and implementation.
