This position is a 6-month contract-to-hire role focused on machine operation and production within a controlled factory environment. The role requires setting up and operating various machines while adhering to safety and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesSet up machines, including tool changes, according to instructions and specifications.Secure tooling using clamps and wrenches.Calculate material removal from parts.Set gauges to measure OD, ID, 3pt race, and offset.Adjust necessary controls to regulate machines.Follow all plant safety regulations.Support departmental performance goals.Learn and operate multiple machines.Perform other machining duties as assigned.
Essential SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail.Ability to sign off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency.Ability to work safely and wear personal protective equipment.Perform inspections and take responsibility for work quality.Use/read micrometers, calipers, and measurement gauges.Ability to read, write, and speak effectively.Work independently in a high-stress environment.Determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications.
Additional Skills & QualificationsCompetence in general math.Some knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.High school diploma or equivalent required.Must pass a near vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled factory with moderate machine noise. Business casual attire is expected, with a blue coat required in the work area. The position requires flexibility to work on varying shifts, including training on the first shift before transitioning to the second or third shift. Personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, is mandatory. The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing to access machine parts. All tools are provided, and adherence to safety and conduct regulations is essential.

Pay and Benefits
