Job Description
As a Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting test bench engineers during prototype setups, which often require constant changes. Your responsibilities will include setting up prototype fixtures and test articles, installing instrumentation for data collection, and ensuring the lab and workspace remain clean and organized. You will also perform basic fabrication tasks such as drilling, grinding, cutting, and tapping, and maintain adequate inventory of shop consumables. Additionally, you will be involved in the setup, diagnosis, and repair of prototype electrical and mechanical systems, as well as conduct preventative maintenance on complex equipment. Operating cranes and forklifts, and lifting/pushing/pulling 40+ pounds are also part of the job.
ResponsibilitiesSupport test bench engineers during prototype setups.Set up prototype fixtures and test articles.Install instrumentation needed to collect data.Maintain a clean and organized lab and workspace.Perform basic fabrication tasks such as drilling, grinding, cutting, and tapping.Ensure shop consumable inventory is stocked.Perform setup, diagnosis, and repair of prototype electrical and mechanical systems.Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.Integrate customer-specific diagnostic and analysis systems.Operate cranes and forklifts.Regularly lift, push, and pull 40+ pounds.Essential Skills2+ years of experience required for Level I, 4-5+ years for Level II.Mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.Troubleshooting skills, especially with prototypes or electrical systems.Fabricating skills including drilling, grinding, cutting, and tapping.Experience in preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with drivetrain systems.Knowledge of assembly, fabrication, and electronics.Why Work Here?
