**Job Title: Technician**
**Job Description**
The Technician position involves establishing and maintaining all manufacturing equipment within production areas. This includes starting up equipment and going through ladder logic, maintaining machinery in optimum working condition, and providing technical assistance to operators and supervisors. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and replacing electrical components for various types of manufacturing equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Start up and maintain manufacturing equipment.
+ Provide technical assistance on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic problems.
+ Recommend replacement of equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
+ Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical components including variable speed motors, VFDS, Micromaster drives, encoders, contractors, and relays.
+ Solve electrical problems with control wiring and board repairs.
+ Use electrical measurement devices and mechanical tools.
+ Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and perform computer tasks.
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and install low and high voltage electromechanical and control systems.
+ Install, wire, and maintain relays, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, solenoid valves, motors, starters, VFDs, PLC I/O modules, and analog control devices.
**Essential Skills**
+ 10+ years of experience as a PLC technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
+ PLC wiring and troubleshooting experience.
+ Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
+ Ability to perform mechanical work including valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and electrical lube routes.
+ Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Must provide own basic tools.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkridge, Maryland.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
