Job Description

The Security Alarm Technician works closely with both customers and the sales department to install, program, maintain, and repair security alarm wiring and equipment in accordance with all relevant standards, guidelines, and electrical code requirements. The ideal candidate must display excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Candidates with previous installation/service experience are preferred. This position is not open to hiring entry-level students with no on-the-job experience.

ResponsibilitiesTravel to job sites to install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment in accordance with all relevant standards, guidelines, and electrical code requirements.Mount and fasten control panels, video cameras, sensors, door contacts, etc.Educate customers on how to use newly installed equipment.Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls.Inspect and troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.Keep informed of new products and developments.Working knowledge of IP networking including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, WiFi technology, and subnetting.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school or GED diplomaValid driver’s licenseBasic computer skillsKnowledge of integrated security systemsPhysical demands include: must be able to lift up to 50lbs and endure prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching, climbing, etc.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Candidates must be open to traveling distances as far as Johnstown, West Virginia, Maryland, Dubois, Ohio, Youngstown, Clarksburg, and the greater Pittsburgh area. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional on-call weekend rotation.

Starting pay rate: $25- $35/hr (depending on years on experience )

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
