The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Technician – Tool Keeper, who is responsible for overseeing the UG maintenance tool store, including accurate inventory control, proper issuance and return of tools, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the store and associated areas. This position promotes efficient tool availability and upholds housekeeping standards to support maintenance operations.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Participate in Identifying and reporting hazardous working conditions and safety problems through a risk assessmentFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Demonstrate proper use, care, and operation of safety equipment and devicesAccurately issues tools to technicians as requested and ensures all tools are returned at the end of each shift.Maintains an organized and up-to-date inventory of all tools and equipment, including tracking usage and condition.Ensures measuring tools are tested and calibrated for accuracy; verifies inspection tags and ratings for lifting and access equipment.Keeps the tool store and associated areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.Promptly reports lost, broken, damaged, or unserviceable tools before shift completion and coordinates repair or replacementPromptly reports lost, broken, damaged, or unserviceable tools before shift completion and coordinates repair or replacementQualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold WayEducational Background:
High School graduate with a mechanical trade diploma. TESDA NCII in Diesel Engine Servicing or Automotive ServicingWork Experience and Background:
Minimum one to two (1 - 2) years’ work experience in maintaining UG mobile equipment such as Sandvik, Normet, Volvo, and CaterpillarSpecialization/License:
Has a valid Driver’s License and or Mobile equipment operationHolder of National Certificates (NCs) for relevant trades.Knowledge:
Understanding of various hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and lifting equipment used in maintenance operations.Knowledge of inventory management principles and tool tracking systems (manual or digital).Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbilities:
