Technician, Aviation Line Service
Position Summary...We are looking for a Line Service Technician. This role is critical to supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality ground operations for aircraft. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will perform a variety of essential services, including fueling, towing, parking, and basic servicing of aircraft, while maintaining equipment and ensuring fuel quality standards. Responsibilities range from operating ground support equipment and communicating with flight crews and air traffic control, to performing routine maintenance, fuel quality inspections, and customer service. You will work closely with internal teams, external customers, and regulatory agencies to support safe flight operations and facility needs. This role offers the opportunity to build valuable skills in aviation operations, customer service, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance while working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

What you'll do...Key Responsibilities:

Aircraft Fueling:

Fuels aircraft using refuelers, ladders, and related equipment.

Operates vehicles safely in tight and confined spaces.

Communicates with flight crews regarding fueling procedures.

Retrieves fuel orders from internal and external customers.

Converts pounds to gallons as needed and reads meters on fuel trucks.

Generates service orders to document completed services.

Aircraft Towing and Parking:

Operates tugs and tow bars to tow and park aircraft safely.

Monitors tower communications and aircraft tracking systems for arrival and departure information.

Communicates with the tower to obtain clearance for taxiway operations.

Positions aircraft in hangars and assists with operations during inclement weather (e.g., rain, snow).

Ground Equipment Maintenance:

Performs routine inspections and maintenance on ground support equipment.

Changes air filters, oil, and verifies fail-safes are operational.

Documents maintenance activities and inspection results.

Basic Aircraft Services:

Connects ground power units and services aircraft lavatories.

Provides light maintenance, such as adding oil, washing windshields, and checking tire pressure.

Loads and unloads baggage and freight.

Generates service orders to document services provided and support billing.

Fuel Quality Control:

Inspects and maintains fuel quality by conducting quality control tests (e.g., API gravity, white bucket test, membrane testing, hydrokit tests).

Changes filter elements at the fuel farm and checks grounding cable continuity.

Performs the fuel recovery process and maintains accurate fuel inventory records.

Documents test results and runs fuel-related reports.

Compliance and Safety:

Follows company policies, safety procedures, and ethical standards.

Uses the Open Door Policy to address concerns or issues.

Applies company practices to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Work Execution:

Prioritizes tasks and meets deadlines by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and stakeholders.

Communicates progress and identifies areas for improvement.

Adapts to change, receives feedback, and continuously seeks ways to improve work processes.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00-$35.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
