Job Title: Technical Writer/Document Control SpecialistJob Description
This role involves creating standardized Work Instructions using the Standard CI Template to support operational consistency, compliance, and efficiency across the BP Legacy Filling Department. The objective is to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly Work Instructions with supporting visuals, estimated to be a minimum of 40 documents, ensuring alignment with company Quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Gather process details from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
+ Draft Work Instructions in MS Excel using the approved template.
+ Incorporate visuals such as screenshots and diagrams where applicable.
+ Maintain version control and adhere to document naming conventions.
+ Conduct internal reviews and revisions based on feedback.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MS Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
+ Experience in performing time studies.
+ Strong technical writing skills to represent processes in both words and supporting pictures.
+ Excellent communication skills to interact with area leadership and plant floor team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to spend 60-70% of time on their feet handling equipment and participating in time studies.
+ Familiarity with regulatory standards and engineering principles.
Work Environment
The work takes place in a busy Paint/Coatings Lab due to the relocation of equipment and customer orders from Illinois to Brooklyn Park. The facility is currently experiencing growth, producing hobby & craft items and DIY garage sealants & floor kits. This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
