Job Title: Technical Support Chemist

Job Description

The Technical Support Chemist will serve as the subject matter expert on all chemical products, including kits and reagents. This role involves addressing technical inquiries, troubleshooting product-use issues, and delivering clear and effective support solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers utilizing chemical products.Respond to telephone calls and emails from customers with questions, concerns, or feedback.Provide technical assistance to other departments such as Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service.Log all incoming and outgoing calls and emails within the daily call log and manage follow-ups accordingly.Prepare chemical batches and standard solutions using analytical methods.Maintain an accurate and complete laboratory notebook for benchwork.Ensure a safe and compliant working environment during all laboratory experiments.Investigate unusual test results related to product performance by reproducing conditions through lab recreation experiments.Utilize internal support documentation and identify opportunities for updates or new resource materials as needed.

2+ years of experience in a chemistry laboratory environmentAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formsPositive and cheerful disposition and patience with customersProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field2+ years of work experience in a technical environmentFamiliarity with the swimming pool and hot tub industry

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
