PIC, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Technical Services Senior Specialist - (AFR) Applied Female Reproduction (Remote Mid-West, USA) to rovide high quality services to customers in North America.

 

This position will be responsible for delivering post-sale services to customer sites, including monitoring agreements on intervention actions when needed and monitoring implementation strategies on-farm to ensure that the genetic program delivers the expected results. This role ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on non-genetic factors that may favorably impact performance relating to applied female reproduction.

 

The successful candidate is able work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment, including the ability to multi-task and anticipate needs while managing competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form, as well as organizational skills are pivotable to succeed in this role.

 

The position is based remotely in the Mid-West region of the USA, with travel approximately of 50% domestic. Travel may increase in times of business need.

 

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $105,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will Use best practices and knowledge that allow customers the opportunity to improve profitability and realize a greater return on investment with our genetics.Communicate and support the implementation of the Company’s health, genetic, management and nutrition guidelines.Support both customer and multiplication partner farms to ensure optimum performance in both mature and start-up farms.Identify and manage specific customer production improvement projects, including but not limited to increasing gilt selection rate, improving feeding management practices, increasing weaned pig output, quality and efficiency.Participate in projects, such as applied field research trials or customer data analysis, that will lead to improvement in the Company’s production guidelines.Work within a team dynamic to:Improve existing animal husbandry practices for all phases of production.Train staff for successful implementation and standardization.Review programs after implementation.Ensure established targets and goals are met.Provide partnership in collaborative technical projects.Develop monthly reports focused on key initiatives, project metrics and performance.Make every effort to see that the Company maintains good standards of conduct in dealing with customers, employees and allied industry in matters relating to social, professional and ethical obligations to society and animal well-being.Explain difficult or sensitive information, and work to build agreements with others, using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.Communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view.Leverage specialized knowledge and expertise to lead teams/projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.

 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

 

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related discipline.Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in swine production, with a proven ability to enhance production performance and efficiency.Strong ability to evaluate production systems and develop targeted intervention strategies that improve processes, productivity, and financial outcomes.Skilled in assimilating, analyzing, and clearly communicating technical information, including the preparation of technical papers and materials to support sales efforts.Capable of working independently and managing travel requirements.Willingness to travel approximately 50% within North America; travel may increase depending on business needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in agriculture, animal sciences or related field.Spanish language proficiency.
