As Technical Onboarding Lead, you'll drive innovation in how we enable and accelerate technical talent across AWS, working directly with senior leadership to transform our onboarding approach.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end technical foundations strategy for AWS's global onboarding program, designing scalable solutions that help new hires rapidly achieve technical proficiency. You'll collaborate with engineering leaders, product teams, and learning specialists to create onboarding experiences that set the standard for technical enablement.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive strategic impact at a massive scale, influencing how thousands of technical professionals begin their AWS journey. You'll partner with senior technical leaders to shape the future of technical enablement at AWS, leading innovative projects that combine technical expertise, program design, and data-driven optimization. Working at the intersection of technology, learning science, and program management, you'll build relationships across AWS's global technical community.

Key job responsibilities
• Architect and implement the global technical onboarding strategy for AWS
• Design scalable, role-specific learning paths for various technical positions
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy
• Design assessment methods to evaluate technical competency
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across AWS organizations
• Partner with engineering leaders, product teams, and learning specialists
• Analyze onboarding program data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Drive continuous improvement through feedback collection and analysis
• Propose and pilot innovative approaches to technical onboarding
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure smooth execution of onboarding programs
A day in the life
The Global Enablement Programs leader is responsible for working backwards from the field needs to define the enablement strategy within a highly matrixed organization. They ensure relevance and adoption of our global roster of programs, continue to evolve and develop state-of-the-art enablement programs, and scale new programs, all whilst hiring and developing the best builders and leaders within the organization.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of Microsoft Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.
- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools
- Experience presenting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
