Location: Scarborough, Maine

The position of Technical Manufacturing Supervisor is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine.  In this role you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and supervision toward the accomplishment of manufacturing and product development objectives. Responsible for characterizing the performance of materials, processes and products. Responsible for coordinating the work of the Technical Manufacturing personnel to accomplish the production schedule and to assess/troubleshoot current raw materials and product. Makes technical based decisions that are important to present and future products and is responsible for disseminating the technical findings to other functional areas of the company.

What You’ll Work On

Manages product/process testing projectsSupervises TM personnel in day-to-day functionsSupports R&D in the transfer/product development processCoordinates TM duties with necessary departmentsMaintains Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP or GLP) in the laboratory, orderly and accurate flow of paperwork, quality systems and maintaining the integrity of manufactured product.Schedules test programs and management of workload to help assure timely and satisfactory completion of projectsMonitors scientific/medical literature relevant to innovative research and testing objectivesConsults with and provides technical evaluations for other departments (manufacturing, development, etc.)Supports R&D/Marketing with product development and consultationAbility to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results in a concise format. Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others.Strong knowledge of Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Technical Manufacturing Lab. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Chemistry, or other related technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years’ experience in the medical/biotech field.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Chemistry, or another related technical field. Fifth year college or University program certificate

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
