Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to lead and execute complex application and infrastructure migrations to Microsoft Azure. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and deep experience with legacy (“old”) technologies. Experience with Azure Stack is a strong plus.

The ideal candidate is Azure Architect–certified and comfortable designing, guiding, and delivering end-to-end migration initiatives.

This is a fully remote role. Candidate selected should be based anywhere in Romania.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and design application and infrastructure migrations from legacy platforms to Microsoft AzureAct as technical lead for migration projects, providing architecture guidance and technical decision-makingAssess existing environments, including legacy systems, and define migration strategies (rehost, refactor, replatform, retire)Design target-state Azure architectures aligned with best practices, security, and scalabilityCoordinate and mentor engineers during migration executionEnsure minimal downtime, data integrity, and performance during migrationsCollaborate with stakeholders, architects, and delivery teamsIdentify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plansSupport post-migration optimization and stabilization

Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience as a Migration Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Technical LeadProven hands-on expertise with Microsoft AzureExperience migrating legacy / older technologies (e.g., on-prem systems, older frameworks, monolithic applications)English (Fluent): Mandatory.

Solid understanding of:Azure networking, security, and identityCompute, storage, and database servicesHybrid cloud and on-prem integrationExperience designing cloud architectures and leading technical teamsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Certifications (Required)Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or equivalent Architect-level Azure certification)

Nice to Have / PlusExperience with Azure StackExperience with large-scale or enterprise migration programsKnowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with regulated or enterprise environments
