Job Description:

The Strategic & Editorial Content (SEC) Group is TD Wealth's content centre of excellence, responsible for developing editorial, strategic, and technical content that highlights the depth and breadth of TD Wealth expertise and showcases our thought leadership to TD clients and the world. The team is comprised of talented content professionals who bring together their editorial, production, creative and technical expertise to create industry-leading financial content across digital and broadcast streams. SEC properties include: MoneyTalk "Brought to you by TD," available at www.moneytalkgo.com and distributed across multiple TD ecosystems, MoneyTalk Live, streamed daily through TD WebBroker, and MoneyTalk on BNN Bloomberg, broadcast weekly on CTV properties, as well as live and original programming on multiple radio stations and various social channels each week.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director/Switcher to facilitate live switching and direction of multiple productions across various platforms. This role requires strong technical proficiency in video switchers and production equipment, the ability to coordinate seamlessly with production staff, and the confidence to make quick, creative decisions in fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for visual storytelling, a calm and focused demeanor under pressure, and experience directing live events, and studio productions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for directing and executing live and pre-recorded Financial News productions in a fully equipped Control Room and Studio. (Directing and switching in a NDI / VizRT powered control room.)

Execute the overall vision of the show as directed by show producers

Work directly with talent in-show, clearly communicating direction and flow, and responding to their creative ideas

Works to elevate the technical production through creative vision and technical expertise.

Publishing shows including administering, captioning, and uploading to TD'S various platforms.

Ability to edit basic show segments with quick turnarounds

Regularly clean and organize the studio environment; maintain all equipment and supplies to ensure a safe professional and efficient workspace

Other duties as required

Core Skills & Competencies

Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with control room staff, producers, and talent to ensure seamless collaboration.

A multi-tasker and able to deal with the high pressure of a live show

Proficient at organizing and prepping assets for shows

Comfortable with very tight timelines

Able to troubleshoot technical challenges that arise

Works well with others and as a strong team member
 

Qualifications & Experience

7-10 years of experience in broadcast television

Media Production Degree considered an asset

Experience directing and switching live and live-to-tape studio productions (Knowledge of the VizRT eco system is an asset, including Viz Vectar, Trio, Pilot, and Multiplay)

A strong understanding of all control room positions and creative/technical aspects of show production

Understanding and experience in floor management, camera placement, audio mixing, Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, and video wall display

This is a 15 month Short Term Assignment
