A multidisciplinary creative design firm in Chicago is looking to add a Technical Designer to their team!
Job Description:
Executes project deliverables in the time allotted per project schedule as coordinated by the Project ManagerCoordinates documentation that captures design decisions while holistically addressing the 3D space; from functionality, alignment with programmatic needs, and how materials, volumes, and performance of the space all come togetherCreates design documentation during the Schematic through the Construction Administration phase under oversight of the Project Manager and Design Director - these efforts are through CAD drafting and/or external coordination with vendorsCoordinates design documentation to abide by standard construction methods and design detailing for implementation within design documentation Coordinates and executes custom furniture and fixture details to align with design direction as directed by project manager Reviews outside consultants drawings (ie architect, drafting, millwork, and custom furniture)Ability to assist in the creation of redlines Assists Project Manager with shop drawing review, submittals, and RFIs Ability to successfully delegate project team tasks and information to ensure deliverables align with scheduleUnder supervision of project manager, communicates with client to distribute project deliverables and seeks information as neededUtilizes and manages project tracker effectivelyQualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design5-7 years of experience within the restaurant/custom hospitality marketConstruction documentation experience on restaurant projects (some custom projects are required)Experience taking part in and leading some areas of construction administrationAbility to manage and coordinate projects through multiple teams Ability to produce millwork drawings in AutoCADSketchup is a plus for interpreting renderingsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
