Technical Business Systems Analyst - Commercial Lending

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with mandatory commercial lending experience to support delivery of commercial banking solutions. In this role, you will work closely with business and technology teams.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for commercial lending processes (origination, underwriting, servicing)
• Translate commercial lending business needs into functional specifications, data mappings, and interface/API requirements
• Partner with development and architecture teams on integrations across core banking, loan origination, and downstream system.
• Analyze and validate commercial lending data including facilities, limits, collateral, covenants, and exposures
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria and support Agile ceremonies
• Support SIT/UAT by preparing test scenarios, validating results, and managing defects
• Work directly with Commercial Banking, Credit Risk, and Operations stakeholders
• Document end-to-end commercial lending workflows and system flows

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Qualifications (Mandatory)
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on Business Systems Analyst experience in Commercial Lending
• Strong end-to-end commercial lending domain knowledge (must-have)
• Experience working with commercial loan origination, credit, or servicing systems
• Strong experience documenting functional and technical requirements
• Solid data analysis skills including SQL and data mapping
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with commercial lending platforms or core banking systems
• Understanding of credit risk concepts, limits management, collateral, and exposure calculations
• Experience supporting system integrations (APIs, batch feeds, messaging)
• Exposure to enterprise data platforms or reporting systems

Nice to Have
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar tools
• Banking, Agile, or BA certifications

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65000–$115000. This role is an existing vacancy.
