**About The Role:**
As a CBRE Lead Automation Engineer, you will be supporting the Investment Management line of business, you will architect and drive the transformation of traditional operations into an automation-first, technology-enabled environment. You will ensure system and application reliability, deliver robust automation solutions, and implement scalable processes that support business operations globally, 24/7. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, process engineering, and leadership to deliver secure, compliant, and efficient technology services.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Own automation architecture & delivery: Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks across infrastructure, application support, and service delivery; lead automated workflows using Python/PowerShell/Node, orchestration tools, and cloud native services to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
+ Standardize service management through automation: Embed automation into incident, problem, and change processes; provide 24/7 support with proactive monitoring/alerting to assure continuity and rapid resolution.
+ Measure, govern, and report at scale: Define multi level SLAs/OLAs and use automation to track compliance, generate real time metrics, and produce executive ready operational reports.
+ Deliver structured mini projects: Plan and ship small, high impact automation initiatives e.g., document migration and normalization via APIs, workflow standardization, and access review automation using repeatable patterns and sprint like delivery
+ Build an Automation Framework for Reporting: Establish a modular framework that automates operational and business reporting (e.g., uptime, SLA adherence, ticket queues, compliance/audit status, development velocities) by instrumenting data pipelines, templating outputs, and scheduling delivery to stakeholders.
+ Create & use CLI tooling, APIs, and small apps: Develop internal CLI tools, REST APIs, and lightweight applications to automate business processes (e.g., bulk content moves, entitlement reviews, configuration changes), enforce guardrails, and expose reusable automation capabilities to ops teams.
+ Engineer resilience & security by design: Automate Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity tests; implement secure automation for provisioning, access reviews, and audit controls aligned with SOX and industry regulations.
+ Continuously improve systems & processes: Use data analysis and automation to detect trends, remediate issues before impact, and drive process improvements and innovation to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Enable clarity & collaboration: Define/document operational frameworks (roles, responsibilities, runbooks); automate ticket routing/escalation across enterprise platforms, cloud/infrastructure, product, and business teams; establish governance and communication protocols for transparency and continuous improvement.
+ Lead and mentor the team: Coach and develop a globally distributed operations team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, automation, and continuous learning.
+ Ensure compliance & best practices: Ensure all automation initiatives adhere to compliance standards, security protocols, and industry best practices to safeguard data and assets.
**What You'll Need:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
+ 5–10 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration/integrations, or full stack software engineering, with a strong focus on automation.
+ 2–5 years of management experience: leading technical teams, architecting solutions, and making strategic decisions.
+ Experience in investment management or real estate is a plus.
+ Advanced proficiency in automation technologies, including scripting (Python, PowerShell), orchestration tools, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and service delivery frameworks (e.g., ITIL), with hands-on experience automating operational processes.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and resolving complex technical issues through automation.
+ Experience with REST APIs, web application troubleshooting, and integration of automation with enterprise systems.
+ Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems, including command-line operations, Bash scripting, and Windows Server environments.
+ Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for automated data extraction and analysis.
+ Solid grasp of networking concepts (IP addressing, subnets, routing, DNS) and automation of network operations.
+ Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, compliance (SOX, audit controls), and secure automation design.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, cloud certifications) are preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, lead automation initiatives, and deliver measurable business value.
