Save your daylight hours & join us! **Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine** is seeking applicants for an I **npatient Vet Technician** to work overnight in the Intermediate Care (IMC ), Intensive Care Unit (ICU ), and Emergency Room (ER) section of our **Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital** . The individual in this position will work directly with theIMC clinicians and rotating intern doctors to help facilitate quality care and patient flow through theIMC ,ICU , and ER. **This is an overnight shift rotating monthly between weekends and weekdays;** **Monday – Thursday 10:00PM – 8:00AM, Friday -Sunday 7:00PM – 8:00AM.** This position involves direct contact with animals susceptible to rabies. Employees in this role must complete a rabies pre-exposure vaccination series and maintain adequate rabies antibody titer (≥0.5 IU/mL) as recommended byCDC guidelines. Minimum Qualifications **Minimum Qualifications** Depending upon a combination of education and experience, the finalist selected for this position will be hired as a Veterinary Technician – Inpatient and assigned levels **I** , **II** , or **III** . **Level I:** Requires an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification. **Level II:** Requires an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification plus 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment. **LevelIII :** Requires an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification plus 4 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment. **Substitutions allowed for Education:** Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed. **Substitutions allowed for Experience:** When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
