Overview:
BJ’s Wholesale Club, a premier membership warehouse club operator with over 240 retail locations, 8 distribution centers, and a corporate home office, is seeking a dedicated Team Member Relations Specialist. This role is integral to fostering a positive work environment, promoting fair treatment of Team Members, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies across our diverse workforce of over 34,000 Team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Member Support: Serve as a point of contact for Team members and managers regarding workplace issues, providing guidance and support on Team member relations matters to promote a positive, productive, diverse and supportive working environment and culture.
- Investigation Leadership: Conduct thorough, impartial, and confidential investigations into Team Member complaints, allegations of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and other workplace issues.
- Case Management/Conflict Resolution: Manage a caseload of investigations and disciplinary actions ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation and resolution of each case and/or situation.
- Interviewing: Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, and witnesses to gather relevant information and evidence.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed investigation reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for appropriate actions.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to leaders.
- Training & Guidance: Provide training and guidance to managers and Team Members on the company’s investigation process, workplace conduct, and compliance policies.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze investigation data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in Team member relations and workplace policies.
- Confidentiality & Integrity: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity throughout the investigation process.
- Compliance: Ensures that all policies and practices are enforced in a manner compliant with all applicable employment and other laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, etc.).
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential records of Team Member relations cases, ensuring timely documentation and resolution. Implements policies and practices that ensure that adequate and accurate records are maintained relative to an employee’s ongoing behavior and relationship with the organization.
- Advisory Role: Provide advice and support to managers on handling Team Member relations issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- May assist, coordinate or lead portions of small/simple projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Team member relations, with at least 3 years focused on conducting investigations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to workplace investigations.
- Excellent investigative skills, including interviewing, fact-finding, and evidence analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with Team members at all levels.
- Maintains an excellent working relationship with peer specialists in the Legal and Human Resource function and utilizes these services on an ongoing basis
- Experience in a multi-location, large-scale retail or distribution environment is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, are preferred.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $131,500.00
