We are seeking a talented Team Leader to join our claims team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Claims Team Leader
We will count on you to:
Lead and oversee an external third-party administrator responsible for the day-to-day management of over 350 personal injury, property liability, and recovery claims on behalf of a significant and longstanding Marsh client.
Deliver ongoing support, guidance, and training to the client to ensure effective claims handling and compliance
Promptly manage and resolve escalations, ensuring issues are addressed to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Proactively manage and align client and broker expectations through clear communication and relationship management.
Review insurer decisions to ensure accuracy, fairness, and alignment with policy terms.
Interpret a broad range of contractual documents to guide claims handling and decision-making.
Provide day-to-day management and support to claims handlers, particularly in handling complex claims, ensuring quality and consistency.
Ensure timely and efficient finalisation of claims matters, balancing thoroughness with client and organizational objectives.
What you need to have:
Proven expertise managing property, liability, recovery and personal injury claims an insurer, law firm, in-house claims team, or third-party administrator.
Strong technical knowledge of claims principles and relevant legislation including the General Insurance Code of Practice, Insurance Contracts Act, and Privacy Act.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Superior relationship management skills and problem-solving ability.
People leadership experience is advantageous.
