About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Reporting and Analysis, the Team Lead, Reporting & Analysis will lead a team of Analysts to analyze, record, and communicate financial information. They will successfully assist in the preparation of annual operating budget and project budgets (national, provincial, and departmental), provide analysis and monthly reporting packages to the Senior Leadership Team, prepare reporting for Committees and the Board of Directors, provide support to the annual financial audit, and complete special projects as needed.
Position Specifics
In this role you will have following key responsibilities:
General Accounting
Team leadership for 2 reporting team members: reviewing, training, coaching, team building; ensuring timely & accurate processes.Monitor month end close process and escalate delays to Manager.Review & post weekly intercompany transfer batches, prepaids, fixed assets, and other batches prepared by the Analysts and other team members. Review monthly reconciliations completed by Analysts and perform monthly account reconciliations for more complex accounts.Develop and update various forms, templates for accounting & other departments.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare forecasting and budgeting reports.Review monthly internal financial reports and year-end external reports.Track progress on year-end external audit and complete preliminary review of required schedules.Offer advanced analysis and review of financial transactions for troubleshooting and correcting errors in the organization’s financial systems.Prepare ad hoc reports and compile statistics.Finance Administration & Support
Responsible to certain internal processes and controls, including making suggestions to enhance current processes and controlsMentor and support other accounting team members by providing guidance on finance related issues or concerns.Respond to staff and volunteer inquiries efficiently and effectively.Liaise with other department managers and staff to develop appropriate financial processes and controls.Communicate with external IT partners to ensure proper accounting procedures are being followed when changes are made to IT systems.
General
Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, respond to/direct inquiries and consult with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, inclusivity and equity to content, member communication and customer service.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Business/Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related degree.Professional accounting designation CPA, CGA, CMA, or in the final stages of completion.5+ years progressive experience in accounting or finance role, including 2+ years of experience in a supervisory roleAdvanced knowledge of Office 365 environment, MS Office Suite, particularly Excel including pivot tables and VBA.Advanced knowledge of Sage 300.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Ability to apply organizational policies regarding inclusivity to content, member communication and customer service
Assets:
Experience with non-profit or charitable sector assets.Experience working with Vena and Power BI
Hiring Range: $65,100 to $76,830 Annually
