Work You’ll Do
Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organization’s global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Participate in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, research and analyze a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and the tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary. Will commute within the New York, New York area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.
Requirements
Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in accounting, finance, taxation, management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) Eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation providing tax planning services. Position requires eighteen (18) months of experience in the following: preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns; identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analyses for investment management companies; conducting research to inform tax planning advice to clients weighing transactional opportunities; utilizing research tools, including BNA, Bloomberg Terminal, and IBFD Tax Research Platform, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients; performing tax testing and adjustments on wash sales, straddles, constructive sales, swaps, foreign currency transactions, UBTI, dividends testing, and special allocation or aggregate allocation; reviewing tax compliance and reporting requirements for deferred payment and installment sales; preparing and reviewing FATCA and CRS filings and ensuring compliance with Pillar Two; identifying reportable transactions and filing disclosures for applicable thresholds; advising on optimization of tax positions and implementation of effective international tax structures; mentoring and coaching junior team members. Annual Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00
