Job Description
As a Tax Prep Specialist, you will interview clients, prepare accurate tax returns, and ensure a seamless experience for each client.
Responsibilities
Prepare individual and occasional small business tax returns accurately and efficiently, reviewing source documents to determine required forms.Conduct client interviews, explain outcomes, and provide basic planning guidance while delivering outstanding customer service.Ensure compliance and accuracy by staying current on relevant tax rules, verifying data in tax software, and following company policies.Maintain organized and secure client files, follow up on missing information, and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.Collaborate with the Office Supervisor and assist with basic marketing touchpoints as needed.Skills and Qualifications
1–2 seasons of tax preparation experience or equivalent knowledge of federal/state rules.PTIN (or eligibility for PTIN).Comfortable with tax software and Microsoft Office.Proficient attention to detail, communication, and client service skills.Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during peak season.Additional Skills & Qualifications

This position is a contract-to-hire role, typically lasting around 4 months. Compensation is $18–$23 per hour with eligibility for an end-of-season bonus. During the tax season, the work hours range from 40 to 50 hours per week, with a reduced schedule in the off-season. The in-season schedule offers availability for shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays.
